I see the color balance is better in the current image and you don't have the time stamp present which is usually a distraction, but here is useful along with the color to imply the past. That certainly looks like a fun place for kids to want to play; the image clearly shows you made the image later in life and are now reflecting on that memory (perhaps you should get back in there for an updated self portrait). This could be the start of a series of memory images where you contrast past with present. Sometimes memory can be implied with black and white images such as brushing or masking selective areas in B&W for an implied nostalgia. Keep making those visits to the family archive and see what you can discover.
ReplyDeleteThis picture reminded me of the works of Catherine Panebianco from the article "No Memory is Ever Alone," which we read two weeks ago. It is interesting how you used a phone to show the old photo instead of using a printed copy (it is unique). It perfectly brings the past and present together.
